Escape From Tarkov does not hold hands. It slaps them away. No tutorial, no map markers, no friendly pop-up tips. Yet the traders keep handing out to-do lists that would make a Navy SEAL weep. The grand prize? The Kappa container, a secure case so large it could store an entire bitcoin farm and a small therapist. As of 2026, every wipe brings new twists, but these classic tasks remain legendary for their cruelty. Here are the ten most brutal quests in Tarkov—and the least painful ways to cross them off.

10. Huntsman Path - Controller

Jaeger asks a simple favor: kill two PMCs while they are blinded by a flashbang. Simple is not the word. Flashbangs are easy to dodge, and a player can only carry so many before the pockets look like a fireworks stand. Passive completion is a one-way ticket to frustration. The fast method is to load into Factory with a rig stuffed full of flash grenades and rush the office area. Even better, a KS-23M with a flash round as the first shell is nearly impossible to dodge. One loud click, one very confused enemy, one quick kill. Repeat until the task completes itself.

9. Insomnia

Prapor wants 30 PMC kills at night, between 22:00 and 05:00. Thirty. At night. The darkness hides not only enemies but also highly geared Cultists who do not appreciate visitors. Nighttime Factory is the go-to because Factory time does not move, so every kill counts toward the quest. However, Factory can drain a bank account faster than a malfunctioning weapon jams. If finances matter, nighttime Shoreline or Interchange offer bigger earnings and decent PvP around the Resort or the tech stores. Bring night vision, a prayer, and maybe a second pair of underwear.

8. The Punisher Part 4

The Punisher questline is already a headache, but Part 4 is the headache that takes painkillers. Ten PMC kills on Shoreline while wearing a Scav Vest. The vest limits magazines, and Shoreline can feel like a deserted island until a three-man squad suddenly appears inside the Resort. The most effective plan is to bring a good automatic weapon with one 60-round mag and a 30-round backup, plus ammo in the secure container. Alternatively, a shotgun with AP-20 works cheaply. Just remember the Scav Vest has fewer pockets than a politician's promises, so every slot matters.

7. Setup

Skier wants ten PMC kills on Customs with a 12 gauge shotgun while wearing a Scav Vest and an Ushanka. The furry hat turns a player into a walking target. Enemies will start fights well beyond shotgun range, and Customs loves long sightlines. That is where the Dorms become a sanctuary. Close quarters, high traffic, and zero room for error. The downside is that highly geared players with face shields laugh at standard buckshot. AP-20 slugs solve that problem. The Customs expansion also offers some angles, but it is more open than a supermarket parking lot.

6. The Tarkov Shooter Part 8

Three PMC kills with a bolt-action rifle on Woods in a single raid. That means one magazine, one bolt pull at a time, and three bodies. The new Woods expansion spreads players out, but the Sawmill remains the best chokepoint. The mountain overlooking the Sawmill gives the best vision, though staying mobile up there is wise because snipers glow like beacons to better snipers. This quest combines luck, skill, and the patience of a monk. One kill off spawn helps, but not often. Keep watching the high traffic routes and eventually someone will stop moving long enough.

5. Delivery From The Past

This is the early-game quest that breaks fresh PMCs. First, grab a secure case from the Customs Office, the big red building with the locked door. That spot is a PvP magnet early in the wipe. The smart move is to hope for a far spawn and sneak in near the end of the raid. Then plant the case in Factory, right next to the main extract and office hotspot. Depending on spawn, either rush the objective or wait about five minutes for the chaos to die down. Once planted, dying after does not reset progress, so the stress finally eases.

4. Collector

Collector is the final quest for the Kappa, and it demands a shopping list of rare in-raid items. As other quests get easier, this one becomes harder because the item list is long and RNG is a cruel master. The best strategy is to check the list constantly and hoard every required item, even if it devours stash space. The Scav Case in the hideout can produce many of the rarer finds. Farming Scavs on Factory is also effective because no other map has that Scav density. Bring good gear, lots of ammo, and a storage container for the mountain of loot.

3. Bullshit

The quest name is not lying. Find a specific flash drive on Customs, plant it, a roller watch, and an SV-98 inside Dorms, then extract. All without killing a single Scav. One dead Scav means restarting the whole circus. A friend can kill Scavs for the player, which is the easiest route. Solo players should run night raids and carry a suppressed weapon for players and flashbangs for Scavs. Flashbangs blind Scavs inside Dorms, buying just enough time to plant the items and run. Do not shoot the Scavs. Very important.

2. Shooter Born In Heaven

The ultimate sniping slog. Three headshot kills at 100 meters or more on Woods, Reserve, Shoreline, and Customs. On Woods, the mountain over Sawmill works. On Reserve, Dome offers a sweeping view of the rooftops and stationary targets. Shoreline players often get sniped leaving the Resort roof or near the pier lighthouse. Customs is trickier: the skeleton building toward Dorms can work, but the hill over the gas station requires precise distance judgment. This quest rewards patience, a steady hand, and a willingness to camp for twenty minutes without blinking.

1. The Guide

The most stressful task in Tarkov. Survive every map consecutively without dying, and run-throughs do not count. Start with Factory because death is most likely there. Kill a couple of Scavs and extract. Then Labs, because the entry fee is high and the frustration should be front-loaded. Labs removes Scavs and replaces them with Raiders, who have better gear and better aim. Play offline first to learn the extracts, then rush one, loot a Raider or two for the survival status, and leave immediately. For the remaining maps, avoid PvP, kill a few Scavs or wait ten minutes, and extract. Slow, paranoid, and alive is the only way through.
